Why Mulch?
Our range of Organic Mulches will perform to suit the best water retention, erosion control, weed control, soil enhancement and appearance of the Home Garden, Office Frontage or Large Industrial Concern. For best results water the ground well, spread the mulch 75-100mm (3-4") thick then water the mulch.
Organic Sugar Cane Mulch
This product is not spent or spoiled hay, it is the made from the tops and leaves of Sugar Cane which is Green Cane Harvested for environmental protection. It does not float or blow away. It is easy to handle. Water penetrates and is retained in the soil. It will last a year with good coverage and can be turned into the soil which it enriches. Earthworms thrive in it while weeds and grass can't grow through it. It does not breed White Ants.
Organic Bush Mulch
Bush Mulch is an environmentally friendly product. It is guaranteed Native Tree Loppings professionally mulched for uniform appearance. It Replaces the Native Mulch under Eucalypts and other Native Plants. It is a Green Mulch product which means it is harvested green not from the ground reducing the possibility of pests. Earthworms thrive in it as the leaves break down while weeds and grass cannot grow through it. Will last up to 18 months with good coverage and can be turned into the soil. Retains water well. Natural looking for the Australian Garden. Very competitive pricing for large areas.
Organic Hardwood Chip
Hardwood Chip is a Green Mulch product screened to a uniform 20mm size for easy handling. It does not break down easily, lasting for 2 years or more with good coverage. Excellent for situations of low maintenance or for well fed gardens. Hardwood chip can cause Nitrogen draw down, leaving plants hungry. Used in the right situation this can be an advantage e.g..pathways through gardens, under decking or verandahs, in Industrial Complexes, where plants can be given an initial feed but the weeds cannot germinate easily in the mulch thereafter.
Organic Hardwood Fines
This is finely ground hardwood. It could be used for playgrounds as it is very soft. It has a soft looking visual effect when spread. Gardens mulched with this product may need regular feeding.
Pine Forest Mulch
Pine Forest Mulch is a blend of pine flake and bark fines. It is a pale blond color and fairly fine in texture. It is suitable for any garden situation as well as for small plants establishing as it won’t dominate their growth.
Organic Fine Pine Bark (12-15mm)
Fine Pine Bark is the Rolls Royce of mulches having many desirable qualities. It retains it's deep chocolate color well .It will not break down for many years. It does not interact with soil pH or composition in real terms over a long period. It has been used for soft fall in children's playgrounds. It is evenly graded for best appearance. It is suitable for any garden situation and looks magic in small gardens as it won’t look too heavy.
Chunky Pine Bark (40-50mm)
Chunky Pine bark has the same qualities but is a heavier grade good for high wind situations. It is also preferable for use in large, wide gardens as it balances well with the size of the garden.
Red Woodchip
Red Woodchip is a dyed softwood that holds its color well and requires a substantial time for breakdown. It is an easy way to match the red terracotta and stamped concrete driveways that are so popular without cooking the plants in your garden. It adds a splash of color to gardens even when flowering plants are rare. It contrasts well with palms and ferns to give a warm tropical look.
